November Reading List

I feel like it’s been soooo long since I got it together and shared what I’ve been reading, but I’m back! I really enjoy reading and have been challenging myself to make more time to fit reading in once again. I’m happy to say that I was able to meet my reading goal this month and here are the books that made my list.

BIG MAGIC - By Elizabeth Gilbert

I absolutely loved Eat Pray Love. So, I was excited to get my hands on another read by Elizabeth Gilbert. Obviously, this was a very different type of book, but I truly did enjoy it. As a creative myself, I did find that her advise was good to take in. I think that when you decide on a career in a creative field, a person really is setting themselves up for a lifetime of criticism and one needs to be prepared for that. I think Elizabeth has some good reminders throughout her book that creatives have a gift that is uniquely their own and they owe it to themselves to continue to share those gifts with the world. The message of conquering your fear has been shared many times over. But, in my opinion, Elizabeth Gilbert does a great job of sharing her personal journey and catering her points to the creative reader to let them know how important it is to believe in their talents.

SUPER ATTRACTOR - Gabrielle Bernstein

I saw Gabrielle Bernstein on Good Morning America a couple months ago introducing her new book and my interest was immediately peaked. I read her book “The Universe Has Your Back,” a couple years ago and enjoyed her writing style and the ease of her message. I’m a big believer in energy, faith and inner confidence. I was a little afraid that this book might be a little redundant, but was pleasantly surprised to read that although she was consistent in her practice and beliefs, she really did take this book a step further by sharing her daily methods with her audience. The best part for me was that I feel like her methods are practical and reasonable to implement. I found her book to be inspiring and uplifting.

GIRL, STOP APOLOGIZING - By Rachel Hollis

Hi, my name is Heather-Scherie and I love Rachel Hollis. I do. So much. I loved her last book, “Girl, Wash Your Face,” and I really loved this one as well. I actually read her other book about three times and have it on hard copy and audio book. I think her message is great. I think she’s a really hared worker and I find that to be motivating. What resonates with me is that she wants to empower EVERY woman to unapologetically be and own who they are. I think her books are easy reads and light hearted. I think her intentions are so good and I’m likely to keep reading anything she puts out on the market.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS - B. A. Paris

Time to switch it up! This read was dark and twisty and super shocking. It was on my recommended reading list via my Amazon purchases. I was drawing a blank on what I wanted to read next and just went for it. I am a fan for a thriller or a mystery now and then. This book did keep me up and night because I wanted to so badly to know what was going to happen next. It’s definitely captivating and unpredictable. If you’re looking for a good page turner to mix up your current reading list, this book has my vote!

You can buy Behind Closed Doors here on my Amazon Shop.

So, there you have it! I love book recommendations - I just got two from a client that I’m so excited to add to my list and get to here in the next few months. So, if you have something you think is a winner, please drop me a line and I’ll happily add it to my book list.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
