Closet Reno Update and Spring 2020 One Room Challenge
Right along with everything else in the world, the One Room Challenge has decided to delay it’s Spring 2020 start date. April 1st was supposed to be kick off day, and I must say, I am so grateful that it won’t be starting now until tentatively May 1st.
In speaking with a lot of other participants, it seems that a lot of people were planning on scaling their projects back so that they could manage the majority of it themselves. Have you ever seen me scale ANYTHING back?! Nope, I think I’m incapable. So, I had kind of figured that I wasn’t going to be able to be a participant knowing that I will, at a minimum, need at least a drywalled and an electrician. If I have my way, I’ll have a very good contractor adding an exterior window to the space too, but we’ll see. So, I’m doing a happy dance over here and I’m happy to say that next month, I’ll be tackling the Master Bedroom!! I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was going to be renovating my closet because it was so unfunctional, but I’ve decided that I’m going to roll that right into my One Room Challenge Project.
Are you ready for some AWFUL before pictures?! I mean… the Master Bedroom is basically a cave inside our ol’ 1970’s brick home! Here goes nothing!

Yea… brown and orange. Yum. Did I mention this house was built in the 70’s? The great news though, is that I generally sign up for this challenge the week it starts and scramble to get a design pulled together and beg every tradesperson I know to fit me into their schedule so I can meet my very tight deadline. This Spring challenge, while it will still be a lot of work, I’m feeling far more confident know that I can spend a little more time coming up with my plan and implementation schedule. So, here goes nothing! I’ll be spending this isolated month of April coming up with the Master Bedroom of my dreams!
